Stone & Story is rooted in a simple belief: the things that matter most are often the quietest—beauty, togetherness, and the objects we choose to surround ourselves with. We were created from a desire to slow down, pay attention, and fill our lives with pieces that feel intentional, lasting, and deeply loved.

Shaped by generations of remarkable women and educators, we carry forward their values: care, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the everyday moments that make a full and meaningful life. Their influence guides the way we curate, create, and imagine what this shop and any home can be.

At Stone & Story, we believe beauty is not a luxury—but rather it's a right, and it can be found in unexpected places: a well-made object, a thoughtfully designed space, a handwritten card, a stack of books on a nightstand. We select a curated collection of high-quality goods because we believe that fewer things, chosen thoughtfully, can transform how we live and feel.

But our story is also about being together. About gathering around books, art, conversation, and shared experience. About giving people the space and tools to learn, build, and create something with their own hands. About bringing more beauty into the world—one object, one class, one moment at a time. It's all in our name: Stone for the groundedness and sense of home we build wherever we are, and Story representing the ways we share and connect our lives through objects, memories, and experiences.

Our Inspiration

Stone & Story is rooted in the women who shaped me. My grandmother’s quiet brilliance and steady wisdom formed the foundation of our family, and my mother’s artistry, compassion, and gift for bringing and seeing beauty in the everyday continue to guide me. They are no longer here, but I feel them in everything I do—in the way I choose objects, honor craftsmanship, and create a space filled with intention and care. Their presence is stitched into every corner of this shop.

I’m also surrounded and lifted by the remarkable women in my life today—the family, friends, and encouragers who remind me to keep moving forward, to trust my voice, and to create with confidence. Their support is woven into the heart of Stone & Story just as deeply.

My inspiration also comes from place. After decades in Los Angeles—years of sunshine and a certain West Coast ease—I felt drawn to return to my Chicago roots. I’m bringing with me LA's warmth and ocean breezes and blending it with the grounded, familiar comfort of the Midwest. Both influences are present in what I curate, how I design the space, and the atmosphere I hope others feel the moment they enter.

My hope is that when you step into Stone & Story—whether you’re browsing for something special, joining a class in the studio, or looking for a thought partner in shaping your home—you feel welcome, inspired, and at ease. I want this to be a place where connection happens naturally and where the stories we carry find room to grow.
